Terms of service
Last updated 15 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-15
1. Who we are
Own Your City ("the service") is operated by Patrick Rosenberg (sole proprietorship), organisation number 920218-3332, Perstorpsvägen 223, 123 64 Farsta, Sweden. Contact: patrick@fabera.se.
By creating an account or buying a city you agree to these terms.
2. What you are buying
A city on Own Your City is a digital ownership status on this platform. Owning a city gives you the right to be shown as its owner on the city page, your profile and the leaderboard, and to share an ownership card.
It is not legal ownership of any real city, place, land, name or trademark. It gives you no rights in the real city, its government, its residents or its name.
3. Claiming a city
- Each city has one active owner at a time. The first completed payment wins.
- Ownership lasts 12 months from the payment date. It then ends unless renewed, and the city becomes available again.
- If two people pay for the same city at the same time, the later payment is refunded in full automatically.
- Ownership is personal and cannot be transferred or resold through the service.
4. Prices and payment
Prices are shown in Swedish kronor (SEK) per 12 months, including VAT where applicable. Payment is handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your card details. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay.
5. Withdrawal, refunds and releasing a city
If you are a consumer you have a statutory right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days. Details are in our refund policy.
You can release a city at any time. Releasing a city does not give you a refund for the remaining time, other than where the law requires it.
6. Your account and conduct
- You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password secure.
- Your username and display name are public. Do not use names that are unlawful, hateful, misleading or that impersonate others.
- We may remove content, release a city or suspend an account that breaks these terms. If we do so because of your breach, no refund is due.
7. Changes to the service and these terms
We may change or discontinue features. We may update these terms; the version in force at the time of your purchase applies to that purchase. If we discontinue the service while you hold a city, we will refund the unused part of your period.
8. Liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss or for interruptions outside our control. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.
9. Governing law and disputes
Swedish law applies. Consumers can bring a dispute to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, ARN) and, in the EU, use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform. Your mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence are not affected.
